Introduction |

These rules shall be called
"Artists' Welfare Fund Rules - 2002"
of State Lalit Kala Akademi, U.P., Lucknow. |

|
2.
Objective |
|
|
The objective
of this Fund shall be to provide financial help
to the eminent artists of U.P. or their next of
kin, in the following cases: |
|
° |
When an artist
has fallen in indigent circumstances and needs
financial assistance to surmount his present predicament. |
° |
When an artist
has acquired temporary disability or is seriously
ill on account of which he is not in a position
to earn his livelihood and support his children
and / or unable to meet expenses of his treatment. |
° |
When an artist
expires and his next of kin does not have sufficient
resources for performing religious last rites
of the deceased artist. |

3.
Artist |
|
|
An artist for
the purpose of these rules shall mean a person
who is born and has actively worked for at least
8 years as an artist in the field of visual and
plastic arts in Uttar Pradesh and / or a person
who is born in any other part of country but domiciled
and has actively worked for at least 10 years
as an artist in the field of visual and plastic
arts in Utter Pardesh and comes in any one of
the following category: |

winners of the State Lalit Kala Akademi U.P /
Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. |
° |
Chairpersons
and members of Standing Commitees of State Lalit
Kala Akademi, U.P. |
° |
Participants
of Annual Exhibitions of State Lalit Kala Akademi,
U.P. / Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi / International
Exhibition organized by reputed and recognized
art organizations. |
